Helping Students Reach New Heights

About Us

South Shore Children’s Center is an early childhood education and care center offering an enriched curriculum that balances academic, social, and emotional education. We provide a center-based learning environment unparalleled by any other

preschool program.

With our well-balanced programs, we can provide our students with a solid academic foundation. Our standards are high, but they are proven successful.

Our learning centers are stimulating and exciting, offering your child hands-on activities to promote learning and fun. We have small classes tailored to your child’s age, which give way to an environment that promotes social development. Our skilled teachers  inspire children to listen, learn, and interact.

Meet Our Executive Director

Annmarie LaRosa is the Executive Director and owner of South Shore Children’s Center, Inc.  Mrs. LaRosa is a NYS Certified teacher.  She earned her Master’s Degree from Stonybrook University. She taught in the New York State Public School system for 15 years, earning her tenure in the Nursery through Sixth grade area.

Mrs. LaRosa continued to focus her practice on Early Childhood Education which led her to a career as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher.  In 2002 she established South Shore Children’s Center, INC., a private school focused on developmentally appropriate practice for young children. During this time, Mrs. LaRosa began serving as a trustee on her local school board, serving as Vice-President and chair of the Education Committee as well as the Special Education committee.

In 2017, Mrs. LaRosa became a member of the SUNY Suffolk Department of Education, where she is an adjunct instructor at the College teaching courses in Early Childhood Education to aspiring teachers in the Early Childhood program.

“I believe in educating the whole child and giving every child the opportunity to learn and grow in an effective environment and at their own pace. Teaching has always been a calling for me. Every day is exciting and fun. When you love what you do, the rewards are endless.
